Whoever listens, understands – or perhaps can understand better.
Getting to know and understand different cultures through their music - the Alte Oper's new world music series began last season with this very thought. In 2017/18, we will follow up from four successful concert projects and continue our audio journey "World Music in the Mozart Saal". At the centre: four musical encounters with master musicians from ancient cultural landscapes that, today, belong to the Muslim world and whose music is shaped by mystical spirituality.
