Access for people with disabilities
The Alte Oper Frankfurt wants to make it as easy as possible for everyone to visit its premises.
If you need help in the house, please do not hesitate to contact us. Our front of house staff is always available to help you with any questions or problems.
Severely disabled persons receive tickets at half price in the regular advance sale upon presentation of the corresponding ID (from 80 GdB).
Disabled parking and access to the building
There are four public disabled parking spaces on the left side of the building at the taxi rank in Bockenheimer Anlage. The entrance for people with reduced mobility is on the left side of the building (9.5 m, 80 cm difference in height).
If you park your car in the Alte Oper parking garage, an elevator will take you into the building. This option only applies in connection with events taking place at the Alte Oper Frankfurt and for visits to the Opéra restaurant.
Wheelchair users arriving via Opernplatz can reach the building via the ramp (see above).
Access to the halls and (intermission) foyers
Within the building, the halls and foyers are easily accessible via four sufficiently large elevators. Please note: For the Mozart Hall (Mozart Saal), this only applies to the seats in the gallery; the seats in the stalls of the Mozart Hall can only be reached via stairs.
Wheelchair Seats, Rollators, Walking Aids
For the inclusion of people with limited mobility, the Alte Oper Frankfurt has reserved 12 wheelchair seats in the Great Hall (Großer Saal) and 2 seats in the Mozart Hall (Mozart Saal) exclusively for wheelchair users. Please ask for the appropriate seats when purchasing tickets. If you book via the internet, please note the markings in the hall plan (Großer Saal: depending on the seating arrangement, rows 20 and 21 or rows 24 and 25, Mozartsaal: gallery on the left). Due to the evacuation concept, we cannot provide you with any other seats. Therefore, we kindly ask you not to take any other seats. For the rest, we refer you to our house rules (point 3). Please note that rollators, walkers, etc. may not remain in the hall during the event for space and safety reasons.
Inductive hearing system
Hearing impaired people can use an inductive hearing system (infrared system) in the Great Hall (Großer Saal).
