The World of SebastiĂŁo Salgado
A whole world in pictures. Or even more: the essence of our life on this planet in pictures. For 50 years, SebastiĂŁo Salgado has been capturing the essence of nature and the impact of mankind on it in his photographs. In his award-winning photographs, the Brazilian photographer shows us the beauty of our planet - especially where it is still untouched. But he also shows what man has done, looking at the dark sides of globalisation, war, displacement, drought and hunger. In September, the Brazilian photographer and environmental activist will be visiting the Alte Oper in person for three days, providing insights into his visual worlds and linking them with music.
