It is not the sober facts and figures, but rather the things of everyday life that bring history to life and that make people's lives in other times tangible. That is why the Alte Oper, together with the Historisches Museum, has developed a format that uses selected exhibits to tell a piece of Frankfurt's city history. In Salon Frankfurt you can experience what once occupied, moved and enriched the people of the city. Film clips, conversations, audio documents and, last but not least, the appropriate music unfold small panoramas from other decades or centuries.
