A glimpse behind the stage with Sarah Willis
Not only is she the first woman to have been engaged as a brass player by the Berlin Philharmonic – she is also a charming and knowledgeable presenter. This is not least the reason why the name Sarah Willis is familiar to countless fans of classical music. The horn player has developed a new format especially for the Alte Oper, in which she provides audiences with an interesting insight into the backstage area ahead of an orchestra concert. Twice during the season, Sarah Willis will talk to the evening’s musicians – with whom she is in contact via video-call from the Albert Mangelsdorff Foyer. A brief introduction to the evening’s programme completes this informal prelude to the concert.
A paid ticket is required for the attendance of each event, i.e. both the backstage introduction and the evening concert.
