Welcome back to Frankfurt! Welcome back to Frankfurt! In March 2027, we will be bringing art from the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York into our world of music. We are also looking forward to a reunion with Max Hollein, the former director of the Schirn, the Städel and the Liebieghaus, who is now the director of the Met Museum.

The four-day festival, titled 'The Met Museum Experience', intertwines images and music in a new way. Important paintings from the Met Museum, by artists such as Jackson Pollock, Gerhard Richter and Henri Matisse, will be reinterpreted alongside music, offering a multi-sensory experience. Alongside Max Hollein, the New York delegation includes the ensemble The Knights, who will perform two concerts with the Ensemble Modern, as well as jazz singer Cécile McLorin Salvant.
