The common thread running through all nearly 250 individual events: We’re turning the world of classical concerts upside down!

All concerts are free to attend. There are no tickets, and no advance registration is required. The only limiting factor is the size of the venues!

ALTE OPER NIGHTS
Wed, Oct. 14 – Fri, Oct. 16, 2026Let’s set out on new journeys through the genres! For its urban “Nights” series, the Alte Oper draws inspiration from the city’s pulse—its overlapping sensory stimuli and rhythms—to create a festival that is no less cosmopolitan and open-minded. Classical music meets new sounds, and familiar forms encounter fresh perspectives. Three evenings of new inspiration and “out-of-the-box” programming!
The lineup features artists and ensembles who are eager to “join in” when it comes to unorthodox programs, cross-genre collaborations, and thinking outside the box. The program also includes talks curated by the non-profit Hertie Foundation, as well as a combination of silent film and live music. Visitors are invited to put together their own musical nighttime journey.
