Works by Ravel, Zedginidze and Rachmaninoff
While it is almost impossible for Western Europeans to pronounce, it is nevertheless worth remembering the name of this pianist: Tsotne Zedginidze will not turn 17 until 2026, yet he is already on his way to the top of the concert world. ‘Phenomenal musicians like Tsotne are born only once in a century,’ noted Georgian composer Giya Kancheli when Zedginidze was just ten years old. Since then, his artistic career has developed at breakneck speed. Working with star conductors such as Sir Simon Rattle and Gianandrea Noseda has become the norm for the newcomer, who has drawn inspiration from the likes of Alfred Brendel, Daniel Barenboim and Sir András Schiff. Zedginidze is making his first guest appearance at the Alte Oper in the 'Debut' series.
