Ten years ago, Rolando Villazón introduced a shy sixteen-year-old trumpeter to the Arte programme 'Stars of Tomorrow'. Without further ado, the young musician launched into the famous third movement of Hummel's trumpet concerto. A lot has happened since then. Lucienne Renaudin Vary is no longer known as the ‘trumpet princess’; she is now a respected figure in the classical music world. The French musician has performed with renowned orchestras such as the Philharmonia Orchestra, Les Siècles and the Basel Chamber Orchestra. She has an exclusive contract with Warner Classics and a busy performance schedule at major international concert venues. She will make her debut at the Alte Oper with her brother, who plays the double bass, and the Quatuor Hanson, with whom she has already realised several concert projects.
