‘For me, he was the first modern composer whose music really moved me.’ Jordi Savall uses these words to describe the music of Arvo Pärt, which offers a new language with clear echoes of the past. In a short concert talk, musicians from the Chroma Kollektiv will present Pärt's piece Da pacem Domine, which was commissioned by Savall himself. Afterwards, staff from the Instituto Cervantes will give a guided tour of the Amerika-Haus. La Capella Nacional de Catalunya and Le Concert des Nations, conducted by Catalan conductor Jordi Savall, will perform Beethoven's Missa Solemnis at the Alte Oper this evening.
