Brahms and a violin concerto against the grain

A music seminar for the curious with Dr Ulrike Kienzle

Free admission, entry with ticket for the evening concert

In autumn 2025, Lahav Shani was announced as the Munich Philharmonic's 'designated chief conductor' and received a warm welcome and celebration from the audience at the Alte Oper. He officially took up the position this season, and the Philharmonic Orchestra is now performing with its new, charismatic conductor, who knows how to make the orchestra sound both warm and energetic. Anne-Sophie Mutter has also been renowned for such a grand, even noble tone for decades, and she too will be travelling from Munich to Frankfurt. In her luggage: Brahms' Violin Concerto, a piece that showcases this violinist's unique talents like no other.
