KIENZLE’S CLASSIC

'When the magic of sound reigns': Beethoven and the Musical Collective

A music seminar for the curious with Dr Ulrike Kienzle

Free admission, entry with ticket for the evening concert

In the mid-1990s, conductor Sir John Eliot Gardiner released all of Beethoven's symphonies on CD, setting a new benchmark: Beethoven had never sounded so vibrant and captivating! But Gardiner did not stop there. In fact, at the end of 2024, he founded two new ensembles — the Constellation Choir and Orchestra — which are capable of setting new standards. He is now presenting them for the first time in Frankfurt with an all-Beethoven programme featuring unusually conceived and rarely heard works by the composer. The soloists for the Triple Concerto are an absolute dream cast. Programme? Conductor? Ensembles? Soloists? It will be hard to decide who or what to focus on this evening.
