Admission exclusively for members and subscribers of the Frankfurter Bachkonzerte e. V., for subscribers to the Bach Series and for FRIENDS of the Alte Oper
The number 27 currently holds a very special significance for Kit Armstrong, a pianist with a passion for mathematics. In 2027, the music world will commemorate the 200^(th) anniversary of Beethoven's death. To mark this occasion, Kit Armstrong has launched a large-scale concert project with conductor and Beethoven scholar Jan Caeyers and his orchestra, Le Concert Olympique. The 'Beethoven27' project will see 27 of the composer's key works performed in the 27 member states of the European Union over a period of four years. As with all concerts in the project, the evening at the Frankfurt Bach Concerts will open with a prelude and fugue from Bach's The Well-Tempered Clavier, setting the tone — or rather, the key — with a nod to Beethoven's roots.
