When it comes to Mozart and his piano concertos, it is hard to imagine a more exciting collaboration than this. The Freiburg Baroque Orchestra and South African fortepiano virtuoso Kristian Bezuidenhout are working on a complete CD recording that reveals Mozart's familiar piano concertos in a new light, showcasing their radical musicality and spontaneity. Bezuidenhout will also perform solo pieces on his fortepiano. Also on the programme is the Serenade for Wind Instruments in C minor. Mozart called it a 'Nacht Musique' – a piece whose bittersweet charm is significantly intensified by the sound of historical wind instruments.
