‘Behind the Scenes’ is the title of a comprehensive package offered by the Alte Oper to reach out to the many people from international communities living and working in Frankfurt. The package includes a pre-talk, a concert and a chill-out session with live music. It offers an opportunity to meet interesting people, learn about their work, socialise with like-minded individuals and enjoy a concert together. This November, when Dianne Reeves and Branford Marsalis celebrate the 100^(th) anniversary of John Coltrane’s birth – and with it, a significant moment in American jazz history – in their joint concert, it will provide an opportunity to explore transatlantic connections in greater depth. During the English-language pre-concert talk in the Albert Mangelsdorff Foyer, US Consul General Brian Heath, J.P. Morgan manager Dr Alexander Mayer, and a Branford Marsalis Quartet musician will share their experiences of bridging Germany and the USA, both personally and professionally. After the concert, the evening will draw to a close with live jazz and the chance to socialise and mingle. The 39-euro ticket includes admission to the pre-concert talk, the concert and the chill-out session, as well as a pre-selected good seat.
