Her music is simultaneously quiet and radical, full of humour and pain, distance and intimacy. When you listen to Cécile McLorin Salvant, you encounter an artist who dares to be complex. The American singer, who has French-Haitian roots, is widely regarded as having one of the most extraordinary voices in contemporary jazz. She will be the first female jazz artist-in-residence at the Alte Oper in the 2026/27 season, and we are looking forward to her three visits from overseas!
