A first for the “@school” format: for the first time, we are bringing together not just a single jazz artist, but an entire combo with Frankfurt school ensembles and big bands. The driving force behind this upcoming edition of the once-a-season series is the “Jazzrausch Bigband”, one of the most exciting groups on the current jazz scene, with an open ear for the influence of house and techno music. Four musicians from the band will work with the school ensembles in a series of workshops to develop a programme, not only drawing on the talents and potential of the individual young jazz musicians, but also working with them to explore what defines an ensemble sound. The young jazz ensembles and their coaches will bring the result of this creative process to the stage together at the end – at the concert in the Mozart Hall.
