Opernplatzsingen

Mitmachkonzert / 1. – 4. Klasse

This concert relies on the voices of children. Primary school classes from all over Frankfurt gather in front of the Alte Oper on the Opernplatz to sing together. In 2026, we expect to see a huge choir of over 1,000 voices singing joyfully once again.

Initiated by Primacanta, the project has long since established itself in front of the Alte Oper. The aim is to provide children with a unique musical experience and encourage their interest in music. To this end, teachers are taught the songs and given ideas on how to introduce them into their music lessons during a training day at the Landesmusikakademie Hessen in January. Armed with lots of cheeky and original lyrics and melodies, the classes then head to Opernplatz for a collective singing experience.
