This is how Vienna sounds
‘Authentic’ is an important keyword for Lukas Sternath when it comes to sound. And in other respects too! The young pianist not only inspires with his fearless lightness and brilliance, but is also conquering all the major stages of the classical music world. When the 24-year-old Viennese pianist performs Ludwig van Beethoven's light-hearted First Piano Concerto alongside the Vienna Symphony Orchestra in Frankfurt this season, it sounds like a perfect match. So much authentic sound was rare! Composed in Vienna, premiered in Vienna - and now interpreted by musicians from Vienna who grew up with the sounds of classical music. With Gustav Mahler's famous First Symphony, which exhibits both late romantic and already progressive traits and is conceived with the composer's typical build-up of tension towards a redemptive finale, the top orchestra from the world capital of music contributes another jewel of sound.
