AI is already being used here: the Alte Oper is developing a new room acoustics system for the Mozart Saal that relies on new technologies. They are still collecting extensive acoustic data and testing settings until the new system goes into operation in September 2027. At the workshop concert, the audience will be able to experience Kit Armstrong, the Alte Oper's AI ambassador, playing various keyboard instruments and gain insight into the topic of 'Music and AI'. Christoph Sladeczek, head of the Virtual Acoustics group at the Fraunhofer Institute for Digital Media Technology, will introduce the exciting world of AI through explanations and experiments. Admission to this morning concert is free, and concertgoers will support the Alte Oper in collecting relevant room acoustics data by acting as 'resonating bodies'!
