Following his successful 2025 tour, Steve Hackett is delighted to treat his fans to another year of incredible guitar riffs, this time featuring Genesis' greatest hits and highlights from his solo career. Hackett is also delighted to introduce two new members of his band: Swedish keyboard virtuoso Lalle Larsson, who replaces long-time band member Roger King, and Felix Lehrmann, the German drummer who succeeds Craig Blundell. With the Best of Genesis & Solo Gems 2026 Tour, Hackett will be stopping off at some of Germany's most beautiful venues in May 2026.
“The most important thing is to focus on the music, which drives everything, but there will be some big changes in the band,” says Hackett. "Both Craig and Roger are great musicians, and I know that Lalle Larsson and Felix will be just as fantastic. I've never worked with Lalle Larsson before, but he's absolutely brilliant and more than qualified for the task of bringing Genesis from 1971 to 1977 back to life. He's an absolute virtuoso. We've worked with Felix Lehrmann before, and when you hear him together with Jonas Reingold on bass, it's like a thousand iron beams coming at you at 100 miles per hour!"
Larsson and Lehrmann will join Jonas Reingold (bass, backing vocals), Nad Sylvan (vocals), and Rob Townsend (saxophone, flutes, additional keyboards) in Hackett's touring band. “I have some exceptional musicians in the band,” adds Hackett, “and I am very happy with this level of virtuosity. These guys are all incredible professionals.”
Steve Hackett's innovative guitar playing was an integral part of the classic Genesis catalog from Nursery Cryme (1971) to Wind And Wuthering (1977). For many die-hard fans, as well as for new generations just discovering these groundbreaking gems, this remains the most important era of Genesis. “I'm still in love with the idea of music,” says Hackett. "I love it more than anything else. It gives me goose bumps every time, and the music has kept me young enough to continue touring with enthusiasm!
