Together, the exceptional artists present a rousing programme and break down the boundaries between rap and classical music. Where drums and electric bass usually set the tone, cello and cembalo take over - bringing two apparent opposites together in perfect harmony.
‘MIKI's Takeover! Ensemble’ translates modern songs into a classical musical language and has already created fine, imaginative arrangements for the music of Joy Denalane, Max Herre and Stefanie Heinzmann. Now it will be interesting to see how the songs by rapper Samy Deluxe from his two ‘Hochkultur’ albums sound in a way never heard before in the classical takeover arrangements. Classical music language combined with hip-hop is a feast on stage, a major win for both sides and a new insight into the subject of high culture!
