For almost two decades, a major piano trio competition has been held regularly in Frankfurt, where the International Schumann Chamber Music Prize is awarded. For several years, the final round of the competition has taken the form of a 'Final Concert' as part of the Museums-Gesellschaft's chamber music series, developing into an especially exciting concert event. At the most recent competition in 2025, several trios performed exceptionally well, presenting the jury with a challenging decision. An audience prize is also traditionally awarded in the final, and on this occasion the Paddington Trio won with a clear majority, impressing the audience with their immense stage presence and thrilling, energetic interpretations.

The trio, which is made up of musicians from different countries and is based in London, owes its name to the station of the same name there. By winning the audience prize, the trio has earned itself a return invitation to the Museum Concerts. It will perform two major works from the repertoire of Franz Schubert and Dmitri Shostakovich, complemented by Arvo Pärt’s one-movement homage to Mozart.
