Programme
Klaus Mäkelä is a phenomenon. At the age of 28, the young Finn is already conducting the world's great orchestras. However, he is not interested in conducting as many orchestras as possible in a short space of time, but rather in long-term collaboration and working together all the more intensively. ‘If you really want to bring about change, you have to stay longer. \<...> You get to know the people better, you don't have to talk as much in rehearsals and you understand each other more quickly. That saves a lot of time and gives us the opportunity to really make music,’ he is convinced. He has been working with the Orchestre de Paris as Music Director since 2021 - a period in which the orchestra and conductor have already been able to get to know each other very well. For their concert in Frankfurt, they will bring magnificent musical images by Ravel, Stravinsky and Mussorgsky to the Alte Oper: fairytale-like and fantastic, timid and powerful - a programme that is not only made for the ears, but also for the inner eye.
