Misa a Buenos Aires
At the Alte Oper Frankfurt, Christianity and Judaism come together in a unique concert project. The programme centres on a Christian mass and a Jewish cantata, both penned by the same composer. Whilst each work retains its own distinct spiritual and musical character, they are also united within a broader musical context. The musical language combines elements of sacred tradition with a contemporary style of expression, influenced by tango. This creates a multi-layered soundscape that balances liturgical depth, rhythmic conciseness and immediate expressiveness. The Jewish cantata, conceived as a cycle of variations on Yiddish and Hebrew songs, offers a distinct perspective within the programme.
The Quartier Ensemble combines high musical quality with passionate expressiveness and a lively stage presence. This gives rise to an impressive musical dialogue between different traditions, which deeply moves and captivates the audience.
