Prof Dr Brigitte Franzen has been the first female president of the Offenbach University of Art and Design since October 2024. She was previously Director of the Senckenberg Nature Museum Frankfurt from 2021 to 2024. She sees how the relationship between art, design and research influences political, social and economic action as one of the central questions in her work as President of the renowned art academy. For her, interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary thinking and action at the university form a basis for negotiating issues of the future for society as a whole.

Our second guest, Prof Dr Enrico Schleiff, has been President of Goethe University Frankfurt since 2021. He has been Professor of Molecular Cell Biology of Plants in the Department of Biosciences in Frankfurt since 2007 and conducts research into understanding plant function and reaction in particular.
