Cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason has regretfully had to cancel his concert scheduled for 2 December 2025 at the Alte Oper Frankfurt due to an injury to his left hand. On medical advice, he is suspending his concert activities until the end of 2025 and plans to return to the stage in 2026. We deeply regret the cancellation and wish Sheku Kanneh-Mason a speedy recovery!
The good news, however, is that we have found a suitable replacement for the concert in the renowned cellist Raphaela Gromes. As one of the most successful cellists of her generation, she now thrills audiences around the world. We are also delighted that Raphaela Gromes will be performing Camille Saint-Saëns' Cello Concerto No. 1, which is on the programme for this evening, meaning that there will be no change to the programme for your concert.
