How can classical music be brought into the concert hall in a different way? The Landesjugendsinfonieorchester Hessen provides an unusual answer at the ‘Podium Zukunft’ festival and presents a new scenic format that the orchestra has developed together with a concert designer. The concert with the young musicians aged between 13 and 19 concludes a festival day full of programme - with ensembles and initiatives that present forward-looking ideas and formats or use music to get involved in society. Among others, the Berlin programme Hangarmusik, which is dedicated to the integration of refugee children and young people by making music together in an orchestra, will be making a guest appearance. Other formats deal with the appeal and limits of digital offerings or new ways of presenting music in the concert hall. The festival programme also includes activities for children and young people, a virtual reality experience based around Beethoven and an instrument carousel with the opportunity to try out orchestral instruments for yourself.
