Anne-Sophie Mutter loves Mozart. She pays deep homage to the master: “He will still be alive when I am long forgotten.” But what better thing could happen to his music today than this virtuoso violinist par excellence? Anne-Sophie Mutter has performed Mozart’s violin concertos countless times. Why Mozart time and again? “Because I love this music so much, because it sends shivers down my spine and moves me to tears, and because it touches the audience.” Together with the Vienna Chamber Orchestra – Berlin, she pairs the Viennese classic with another love of her life: as her husband and close artistic confidant, André Previn composed numerous works that have found a place in her soul. “He set me free musically,” says Mutter, explaining that he helped her find her own path. This programme is a special labour of love for Anne-Sophie Mutter and reveals a very personal side of her.
