Julian Steckel, Violoncello & Aris Blettenberg, Klavier

Two outstanding soloists from our symphony concerts, who also perform together as a duo, now join us for our chamber music series: Julian Steckel, last heard in Elgar's Cello Concerto, and Aris Alexander Blettenberg, recently heard in Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5. The programme for their duo evening is stylistically diverse, ranging from the intimate atmosphere of the Kodály Adagio to the symphonic density of Beethoven's 'great' Cello Sonata and the brilliant extroversion of the music of Grieg and Chopin, in which first the cellist and then the pianist can show their virtuoso side.
