Sixteen years ago, In Extremo fans were excited by a unique concert concept. Under the title Tranquilo, the band performed their songs for the first time in an unusually mellow acoustic style, showcasing a different side to their work. The response was overwhelming, and ever since, many fans have been hoping for a sequel to this extraordinary format.
Now, the time has finally come. With Tranquillo II, In Extremo are heading out on an acoustic tour once again. A lot has happened in the sixteen years since the first instalment. They have released new albums, and many of their songs are crying out to be performed in an acoustic style.
Audiences can look forward to some very special, intimate evenings. In Extremo will perform their classic songs, as well as rarely played gems, in an acoustic setting. They will also present surprising reinterpretations of their hits and anthems. Familiar melodies will appear in a new light: sometimes stripped back and touching, and sometimes playful and surprising.
In Extremo have also prepared a special surprise for this tour. The band will be joined by some outstanding musicians and guests: Oliver 'SaTyr' Pade and Niel Mitra from Faun, as well as the violinist Justin Ciuche. They will add extra layers of sound and musical virtuosity to the 'Tranquilo' concept. Faun are among the world’s leading bands at combining ancient soundscapes with modern music, setting international standards in the process with their numerous successful albums and hundreds of concerts.
