In spring 2025, it will be that time again: young chamber music ensembles will make the pilgrimage to Frankfurt to compete for the Schumann Chamber Music Prize. A prize that may be a springboard for an international career, as the prizewinners open the doors of concert organizers. The Frankfurt Museum Society is always committed to young up-and-coming ensembles, and so this time too, as part of its chamber music series, it is making the podium of the Alte Oper Frankfurt available to determine and present the best piano trios.
The competition is once again being organized by the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts in cooperation with the Robert Schumann Society and the Frankfurt Museum Society.
In the days leading up to the final, the jury, consisting of Heime Müller (ex Artemis Quartet), Vera Martinez-Mehner (Casals Quartet), Stefan Heinemeyer (Atos Trio), Bart van de Roer (Storioni Trio) and Prof. Angelika Merkle (HfMDK), will select the three best ensembles.
In this chamber concert, the time has come: the first part is the exciting final round with performances by the finalist ensembles. After a break for deliberation, the prizes will be announced in the second part, including an audience prize. So come and join us!
