Farin Urlaub was already travelling before he started playing music in a band. He is still a long way from achieving his goal of seeing the whole world, but for several decades now, he has been drawn back to Africa time and again. Whether on his own or with a guide, on a motorbike or in an off-road vehicle, he has visited more than 40 countries on this huge, exciting, contradictory and absolutely fascinating continent.
Farin now wants to share the beauty, humanity and adventure he has experienced there time and again. Not as an omniscient cultural expert, but as an enthusiastic and curious traveller who is not afraid of the unknown – on the road with his camera, functional clothing and sunburn in search of truth.
Together with Jochen Schliemann (journalist, traveller, writer and one half of ‘Reisen Reisen – Der Podcast’), Farin is going on a speaking tour through beautiful venues in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The two want to talk openly about subjective experiences, show photos* and – at the very least – arouse curiosity.
