“Every kind of music has its own heaven,” Verdi once said. His music was composed under the clear skies of “Bella Italia.” Verdi’s music stirs powerful emotions, yet always remains genuine and true – and beautiful, as beautiful as the sky over Italy.
Many of Verdi’s operas feature that “very special” hit. World-famous examples include the “Chorus of the Prisoners” from *Nabucco*, “Preghiera di Desdemona” (Ave Maria), and “Ella mai m’amò.” They rank among the most moving works European music has ever produced. Nabucco, La Traviata, Rigoletto, Il Trovatore and Aida are masterpieces from the first bar to the very last.
With his soft, full timbre, Italy’s star tenor Cristian Lanza, together with Silvia Rampazzo and baritone Giulio Boschetti, as well as the choir and orchestra of the Milano Festival Opera, presents the very finest of Verdi’s magnificent arias, duets, and choruses.
With great talent and even more emotion, Cristian Lanza knows how to give his voice wings. The Italian tenor, born in Rome, has long been among the greats of the opera world. His grandfather remains a source of inspiration for him.
The Italian-born singer is the grandson of the world-famous singer Mario Lanza. Yet he has long since stepped out of his grandfather’s shadow. Cristian Lanza’s lyrical tenor voice has a softer and richer timbre than his grandfather’s. Not only does he possess the range expected of a tenor, but he also consistently enchants and moves his audience with his soulful voice.
And so we can confidently exclaim: Long live Verdi! Viva Verdi!
