There stands a magnificent villa by the sea in Naples, Italy. The beautiful sisters Fiordiligi and Dorabella live there, and they are in love with the officers Guglielmo and Ferrando. They plan to marry soon and swear eternal fidelity to each other.
However, the old philosopher Don Alfonso does not believe in love or eternal fidelity. He persuades his two friends to take part in a dangerous wager! To this end, he bribes the chambermaid, Despina, and devises a cunning plan with her. Disguises, vials of poison, a fake doctor and a fake notary – Don Alfonso pulls out all the stops. Then, just before the whole affair goes completely awry, everything goes haywire – but the children and Mozart’s music save the planned double wedding.
