What is true of Frankfurt as a whole is also evident in the music scene: diversity and the coexistence of many traditions and styles. The Alte Oper, together with the Office for Multicultural Affairs, now gives this diversity a stage every year. The opening act is the band Prosechòs. Founded 40 years ago in Bockenheim, it specialises in bluesy rembetiko, which has its origins in the melancholy laments of Greek refugees in the 1920s. The old stagehands will be followed by the musical '069 Soundworlds', staged by young people from the social project Klangwelten and accompanied by the fusion band ZakShotLeFunk. The Senegalese-Madagascan band Mijoa will create a completely different sound: world music with jazz improvisation and percussion. Join us for an evening of dancing and singing!
