Performers
Nothing less than life itself is at stake. The legendary Comedian Harmonists faced the adversities of their time with anarchic humour and subtle wit. They mocked hollow pathos and would-be greats, and offered comfort where it was needed. An attitude that has lost none of its power to this day.
For their anniversary programme, the Berlin Comedian Harmonists have once again delved into the history of their great role models, unearthing the unheard-of, the comical and the touching.
Alongside classics such as ‘Der kleine grüne Kaktus’ and ‘Veronika, der Lenz ist da’, rarely heard musical treasures from the ‘world’s first boy band’ are performed. Virtuosically arranged songs ranging from Katja Ebstein to Udo Jürgens, and from the Beatles to Queen, build an entertaining bridge to the present day.
The Berlin Comedian Harmonists recount the eventful lives of their role models and, through personal anecdotes, offer a glimpse behind the scenes of their own concert life – all underpinned by that brilliant ensemble sound that has been their trademark for decades.
‘Wunder gibt es immer wieder’ is a tribute to six extraordinary artists whose music has lost none of its magic, even after a hundred years.
