Aris Quartett

The Museum Concerts' chamber music series comes to an unusually late end this season in June. The Aris Quartet will present the third programme of its six-part Beethoven string quartet cycle, bringing the series to a provisional close before it resumes in the 2027/28 season. Once again, an early, middle and late quartet are set against one another: the cheerful D major Quartet from Op. 18, with its effervescent tarantella finale; the cryptic E-flat major Quartet, Op. 127; and the third of the 'Razumovsky' Quartets. The fugal final movement of the latter has been one of Beethoven's best-known and most popular pieces ever since it was a regular feature of the 'Literary Quartet'.
