Programme
You can hear sleigh bells and whips cracking! Leopold Mozart's ‘Musical Sleigh Ride’ tells the story of a cosy ride on a horse-drawn sleigh through a snowy winter landscape - a perfect introduction to the traditional ADAC Christmas concert, performed by the Lviv Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Rykjavik-born conductor Gudni A. Emilsson. The programme continues with Mendelssohn's famous Violin Concerto in E minor op. 64, the composer's last concertante work and one of the most popular in this genre. Marko Komonko, who comes from a family of musicians and has been concertmaster of the Lviv Philharmonic Orchestra since 2014, will perform on the violin. After the interval, the orchestra will delight you with a performance of Antonin Dvořák's Symphony No. 9 in E minor ‘From the New World’, one of the most beautiful symphonies that classical music has to offer.
