Peterchens Mondfahrt
school concert / 1st - 4th class
Every year, the Papageno Musiktheater ensemble brings a children's book or fairytale classic to the stage of the Mozart Hall at Christmas time. These productions are aimed specifically at children aged five to ten, and there is also a morning performance for primary school classes.
At Christmas time 2025, we take off - together with Peterchen, Anneliese and Mr. Sumsemann, a beetle who wants to retrieve his grandfather's lost leg from the moon. Published in 1915, the fairy tale about “Peter's Journey to the Moon” is considered a classic of children's literature. The team around theater founder and director Hans-Dieter Maienschein has given the story a new musical guise, with sparingly but effectively used sounds of violin and piano. And so the young audience can accompany Sumsemann the cockchafer as he joins Anneliese and Peterchen on an adventurous journey to the moon to bring his grandfather's leg back to earth.
