Familienkonzerte der Museums-Gesellschaft

‘Anything but sitting still’ is the motto of the Frankfurter Museums-Gesellschaft's family concerts, which have featured in the Alte Oper's children's and youth programme for many years. The young audience, comprising children aged five to ten and their parents, are warmly invited to sing along, join in and play along.

The six concerts in the 2025/26 season will once again take the audience on a journey of discovery, featuring ghosts, horror and crime; musical portraits of instruments; a pocket-sized Rossini opera; and an encouraging concert.

At all concerts, the children become part of the on-stage action and immerse themselves in the stories told by the music. However, the presenters and designers are interested in more than just entertainment. During the live performances, children discover the worlds that music can open up and the mental images that sounds and melodies can conjure up. They also experience how rhythms can move through the body.
