Enthusiast choir

The Alte Oper is looking for voices! Enthusiastenchor' is the name of our participatory format, to which we are calling all committed amateur singers from soprano to bass. With professional support, you will work on a major choral work which, after rehearsals, you will perform together on the stage of the 'Grosser Saal'. 

ENTHUSIASTENCHOR 2027 - Händel Coronation & Celebration (04 June 2027)

A joint participatory project by the Alte Oper Frankfurt and the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main

Sublime, festive and representative: these are the keywords that characterise the choral music composed by the Baroque master, George Frideric Handel, for royal and ceremonial celebrations in London. Entitled 'Coronation & Celebration', the evening will also celebrate amateur singing and constructive community spirit. The Alte Oper is offering amateur singers the chance to rehearse this piece with a specially formed choir of enthusiasts and perform it together on the Großer Saal stage - supported by the choir and orchestra of the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst.

The registration period begins in mid-September.
