Jazz und Demokratie
Schulkonzerte / 7. - 10 Klasse
JWhat do jazz and democracy have in common? Both are about communication and interaction. They are about how individuals behave within a group, and about respecting the perspectives of others. The concert “Jazz und Demokratie”, developed by the Alte Oper in collaboration with the initiative “Jazz und Improvisierte Musik an die Schule”, explores how the rules of jazz can be applied to groups and a democratic society. It is aimed at students in years seven to ten. The project seeks to establish links with topics covered in social studies, political science or history classes.
An optional professional development session is available for teachers wishing to attend the concert with their classes.
