Pre-concert talk, concert and chill-out session with live music: As part of its new 'Behind the Scenes' programme, the Alte Oper is inviting members of the many international communities living and working in Frankfurt to enjoy a special evening featuring an English-language pre-concert talk, a visit to the concert and a subsequent chill-out session with live jazz. The opening event, which will feature the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, Anja Bihlmaier, and cellist Pablo Ferrández, will focus on the British–German perspective. During the pre-concert talk in the Albert Mangelsdorff Foyer, Susan Tackenberg, a board member of the British Chamber of Commerce in Germany (BCCG), and Catalina Preciado, chair of Young BCCG Rhein-Main, will discuss their work and experiences of navigating different cultures. Musicians from the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra will offer insights into their professional lives, which are split between Manchester and international concert stages. After the concert, the evening will draw to a close with live jazz and an opportunity for conversation and socialising.
