Frankfurt is full of international energy. People from all over the world live and work here, seeking connection and community. The Alte Oper has always been a place where music brings people together and where cultural diversity is a natural part of the evening. With our international programme, we invite people from across the Rhine-Main region to experience concerts at the Alte Oper with English-language introductions, talks and opportunities to meet others around selected concerts.

At the heart of the programme are the new Behind-the-Scenes formats. Four times per season, you are invited to gather before the concerts for moderated conversations with international guests and artists who share inspiring perspectives from their fields. The Albert Mangelsdorff Foyer becomes a place to meet before the concert, during the interval and afterwards.

Alongside the Behind-the-Scenes formats, our initiative also includes our Ambassador Programme, where members of Frankfurt’s international community share their enthusiasm for music and invite others to discover concerts and special events, the Alte Oper International Club for Frankfurt’s multinational companies and their employees, and collaborations with international institutions in Frankfurt. Different formats, one common idea: Music connects across borders!

The Alte Oper Ambassadors programme engages members of Frankfurt’s international community who have made the city their home and feel a special bond with Alte Oper Frankfurt. As part of a growing network, our ambassadors share their enthusiasm for music and invite others to discover concerts and special events in English.

This Programme is designed for internationally oriented companies that wish to offer their employees special cultural experiences in Frankfurt. Through their membership, companies give their teams easy and affordable access to selected concerts at Alte Oper, each complemented by a curated English-language programme that creates opportunities for exchange in a cosmopolitan setting. Each event brings together people from different departments, companies and industries – with music at the centre of the evening.
