World Music in the Mozart Saal (Mozart Hall)

2018 is the European Year of Cultural Heritage – an opportunity to celebrate a core element of the European way of life and identity. Oral traditions such as art, customs, rituals, festivals, knowledge, and crafts give us a feeling of belonging and of home, which is important in order for us to shape our future. Music has always created a network of relationships between the European peoples, long before we became aware of a common European identity. Also, the history of Europe in the 20th and 21st centuries was characterized by the overcoming of internal borders. In the “World Music in the Mozart Hall” concert series, you are invited to listen to contemporary sounds in European meeting places and borderlands, as well as to search for traces of musical identities and neighbourhoods.
