Focus on Mozart 1785/86
Zooming in on a period that wrote music history
The journey will begin in Frankfurt: after their successful “Beethoven Journey”, in which they gave more than 155 concerts in 55 cities and 22 countries over a period of several years, it is now time for the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and the pianist Leif Ove Andsnes to embark on another journey together. This time, “Mozart Momentum 1785/1786” is the destination for their joint expedition, which will usher the orchestra and the Norwegian pianist into one of the most productive and successful periods of Mozart’s life. The Alte Oper has invited Leif Ove Andsnes and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra to set their three-year project in motion here.
