Schools' concert with Gerd Albrecht – a project for primary
schools in Frankfurt run by Alte Oper Frankfurt in cooperation with
Stiftung Polytechnische Gesellschaft, UBS Deutschland AG, the Hesse
Ministry of Culture, represented by the Staatliches Schulamt für die
Stadt Frankfurt (state education authority for the City of
Frankfurt), and the Stadtschulamt Frankfurt am Main (Frankfurt am
Main city education authority).
Since 2008, the Alte Oper has staged two concerts once a year for
schoolchildren of primary school age in Frankfurt. The concerts are
held at 9.30 a.m. and 11 a.m. and are integrated in the school
curriculum. Prior to the event, a training session is used to
prepare teaching staff for the concert and familiarise them with a
range of interactive activities for their pupils.
As both concerts are financed by the Stiftung Polytechnische
Gesellschaft and UBS Deutschland AG, the children only have to pay
an admission fee of two euros.
The two concerts in the 2012/2013 season will take place on 14 September 2012 at 9.30 a.m. and 11 a.m.; the event will be announced
to all primary schools in Frankfurt shortly.
