My favourite piece of music
What type of music does a Chief Executive enjoy listening to?What piece of music sends shivers down the spine of a Lord Mayor?
Music is an essential part of many people's lives, with important memories or experiences inextricably linked to specific pieces of music. To trace these links, the Society of the Friends of the Alte Oper Frankfurt and the Frankfurt College of Music and Performing Arts have come together and last season created a series of events entitled "My favourite piece of music", which portrayed a public figure and an audience member with their respective favourite pieces. The works were interpreted by students of the Frankfurt College of Music and Performing Arts.
After this successful start, the coming season will also see prominent public figures sharing the music that is close to their hearts and explaining the reasons why. And once again, a member of the audience will also have the opportunity to speak about the music which is and has been important to him or her.
As soon as dates have been confirmed for the coming season, they will be advertised here. However, you can apply now to represent the audience in this event. All you have to do is write to us and describe briefly what place your “favourite piece” holds or held in your life.
There is only one condition - "Your" piece must be suitable for the performance options that are available, i.e. it should be a solo piece, chamber music or a song.
